Digitalisation of transport for improved road safety
Nowadays roads are filled with trucks. Road transport is very important for delivering goods and materials but it also creates problems, like road safety, congestions and traffic pollution. However, big part of it can be solved with digital solutions.
In Lithuania alone heavy duty vehicles drive extra 35-40 kilometers only for customs clearance every time when loaded. This makes about 45 mln. km. annually, that result in traffic jams, road wear and air pollution. Vehicles annually have downtime of 6 mln. hours, that result in 85 mln. eur. loss with no value created and this applies to transport industry all around Europe. Digital solutions for customs documents can help solve this problem, so we believe that it is very important to talk about it.
